Job Description

Mitie Group Plc is seeking a diligent and reliable Janitor / Cleaner to join our night shift team on a full-time basis in Canary Wharf, London. This on-site role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of our client’s commercial premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks, ensuring a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment for all building occupants. You will work as part of a dedicated team, adhering to health and safety regulations and delivering services to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping of floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitise restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of refuse appropriately.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Refill dispensers for soap, paper towels, and other consumables.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and COSHH regulations.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure all cleaning schedules are followed and tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning or a similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
• Good physical stamina and mobility, with the ability to lift and move cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to night shift hours.
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant cleaning certifications (e.g., BICSc accreditation).
• Experience working night shifts in a commercial environment.
• Familiarity with waste management and recycling procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
