Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Technician to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line IT support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, ensuring reliable internet access and internal network performance.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, backups, and security checks.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Active Directory and other relevant systems.
- Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and incident resolutions.
- Assist with the deployment of new hardware and software solutions.
- Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to ensure seamless IT operations.
- Provide support for remote users and video conferencing systems.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and macOS.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration and support.
- Familiarity with hardware components, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Basic understanding of scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
- Experience supporting virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
