Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for technology and problem-solving, looking to advance their career within a leading global consultancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to our internal users, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Active Directory and other relevant systems.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding procedures, including setting up new user accounts and equipment.
- Document technical issues, solutions, and procedures in our knowledge base and ticketing system.
- Perform routine system checks and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations, as required.
- Educate users on IT best practices and security awareness.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to improve service delivery and resolve cross-functional issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an IT support role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10, 11).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (O365) and related applications.
- Experience with Active Directory user and group management.
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk).
- Familiarity with remote support tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of macOS and Linux environments.
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
