Job Description
Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Intergovernmental Affairs Analyst to join our dynamic team in Colorado Springs, CO. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in facilitating communication and collaboration between our clients and various governmental entities at local, state, and federal levels. You will analyze public policy, track legislative developments, and provide strategic recommendations to navigate complex intergovernmental landscapes. This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of government processes, excellent analytical capabilities, and superior communication skills to bridge gaps and build consensus among diverse stakeholders. You will contribute to projects that have a direct impact on national security and public service, working within a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of intergovernmental policies, regulations, and legislative initiatives relevant to client objectives.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at federal, state, and local levels, identifying potential impacts and opportunities for clients.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across various government agencies, non-profits, and industry partners.
- Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations on policy issues, legislative updates, and stakeholder engagement strategies for senior leadership.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to clients on navigating complex intergovernmental challenges and achieving policy goals.
- Represent the client's interests in meetings, working groups, and conferences with governmental bodies and external organizations.
- Facilitate information sharing and collaboration between internal teams and external governmental partners.
- Contribute to the development of proposals and thought leadership content related to intergovernmental affairs.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in intergovernmental affairs, public policy analysis, government relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of federal, state, and local government structures, processes, and legislative procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of dissecting complex policy issues.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with defense, intelligence, or space-related government agencies.
- Familiarity with the legislative process in Colorado.
- Project management experience, including managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
