Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Services Analyst to join our dynamic team in Buffalo, NY. The Immigration Services Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our clients through various immigration processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and contributing to the efficient operation of our immigration practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to individuals and corporations navigating complex immigration landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file a variety of immigration petitions and applications, including H-1B, L-1, PERM, I-140, adjustment of status, and naturalization.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary documentation and information, providing guidance on immigration processes and timelines.
- Conduct legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and policy updates to ensure compliance and advise attorneys accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and databases, ensuring all case details and deadlines are meticulously tracked.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for client meetings, government agency interviews, and court appearances.
- Draft correspondence, legal documents, and reports related to immigration matters.
- Liaise with government agencies such as USCIS, DOL, and DOS on behalf of clients.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of immigration processes and procedures.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Paralegal Studies, Political Science, International Relations).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business immigration services, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Proficiency with immigration case management software and legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally with diverse clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. immigration laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, French).
- Experience with both employment-based and family-based immigration petitions.
- Proven track record of success in preparing and filing complex immigration applications.
