Job Description
As an HR Manager at H-E-B, you will be responsible for overseeing all human resources functions for a designated region or large store/facility in College Station. This includes talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, training and development, and ensuring compliance with all labor laws and company policies. You will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, fostering a positive work environment and driving initiatives that support our culture and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee talent acquisition processes, including recruitment, interviewing, and selection.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring fairness and compliance.
- Conduct new employee orientations and manage onboarding processes.
- Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain HR records and HRIS systems.
Required Skills
- Proven working experience as an HR Manager or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- BS/MS degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR or SPHR certification.
- Experience in the retail or grocery industry.
- Master's degree in Human Resources Management.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
