Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our growing team in Festac Town, Lagos. As an HHA with CarePoint Nigeria, you will play a crucial role in providing essential daily care and support to our clients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. This role requires empathy, reliability, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with mobility and transfers, including safe use of assistive devices.
- Provide medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks essential to the client's health and comfort.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social activities.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Home Health Aide or similar role.
- Ability to perform ADLs and assist with mobility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate demeanor.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and report observations effectively.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and infection control practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Home Health Aide (HHA) or Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited institution.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience working with diverse client populations (e.g., elderly, disabled, post-operative).
- Ability to speak local languages in addition to English (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo).
