Job Description

Oracle is seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Engineering to lead our dynamic engineering teams in North Richland Hills. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for defining the technical strategy, driving execution, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. You will oversee multiple engineering teams, ensuring the development and delivery of high-quality, scalable, and robust software solutions that align with our product roadmap and business objectives. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing and mentoring engineering talent.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of software engineers and engineering managers.
• Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap in collaboration with product management and executive leadership.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of large-scale software systems and applications.
• Champion best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, code quality, and continuous integration/delivery.
• Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure efficient delivery.
• Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of all developed systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, operations, and other stakeholders to achieve business goals.
• Represent the engineering organization internally and externally.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong architectural and system design skills, with experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in modern software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS models.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with AI/ML, big data technologies, or enterprise applications.
• Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the tech community.
• Experience managing remote or hybrid teams effectively.
