Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman / Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team in Mesa, Arizona. This vital role involves performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks to ensure our medical facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general maintenance procedures, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. You will be responsible for addressing various service requests, preventative maintenance, and contributing to the overall upkeep of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC system checks.
• Conduct repairs on equipment, fixtures, and building structures as needed.
• Inspect facilities regularly to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Troubleshoot maintenance problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for events or special projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other facilities staff and departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage inventory of tools and supplies, reporting needs for replenishment.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance and repair methods.
• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity for various manual tasks.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Vocational training or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical).
• Experience working in a healthcare or institutional environment.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
