Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Government Contract Specialist to join our team in Bowling Green, KY. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing the full lifecycle of government contracts, ensuring compliance with all federal acquisition regulations and company policies. This position requires a strong understanding of government contracting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to navigate complex contractual agreements. You will work closely with various internal departments, including project management, legal, and finance, as well as external government agencies, to support critical programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from proposal support and negotiation to award, administration, and closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable government regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate various contract documents, including non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and prime contracts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters with government clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to program teams on contractual terms, obligations, and risks.
  • Monitor contract performance, identify potential issues, and facilitate timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and complete contract files in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in proposal development by reviewing solicitations, identifying contractual requirements, and contributing to proposal content.
  • Support internal and external audits related to contract compliance.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in government contract administration or management.
  • In-depth knowledge of FAR and DFARS.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex contractual terms and conditions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Certification such as CFCM (Certified Federal Contracts Manager) or CPCM (Certified Professional Contracts Manager).
  • Experience with various contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, etc.).
  • Prior experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.
