Job Description
Kiewit Corporation is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious individuals to join our road construction crews as General Laborers and Flaggers. This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining safe work zones and efficient traffic flow on our vital infrastructure projects across Alaska. We provide comprehensive training and certification for flagging, ensuring you have the skills needed to succeed. Key Responsibilities
- Control and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through construction zones using standardized flagging procedures.
- Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and signs.
- Communicate effectively with equipment operators, drivers, and other crew members via hand signals and radios.
- Assist skilled tradespersons with various tasks including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned to support project completion.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction, labor, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (will be provided if not held).
