Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer to join our dynamic team in Belfast. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on Google Cloud. You will work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client needs. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop and deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Manage and monitor GCP services, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and networking components.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across GCP environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to GCP infrastructure and applications.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions.
- Participate in architectural discussions and provide technical guidance on GCP best practices and emerging technologies.
- Optimize cloud costs and performance through continuous monitoring and analysis.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and architecture.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity management (IAM).
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE).
- Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go) for automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Cloud Professional certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer).
- Experience with database management systems (relational and NoSQL) on GCP.
- Knowledge of data analytics services like BigQuery, Dataflow, or Dataproc.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Previous experience with large-scale enterprise cloud migrations.
