Job Description
Join the Sysco New Orleans team as a Fruit Packer! This integral role involves working within our indoor packhouse facility, ensuring the highest quality standards for our fresh produce. You will be responsible for carefully inspecting, sorting, and packaging various fruits for distribution to our diverse customer base. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fruits for quality, ripeness, and defects, removing any unsuitable items.
- Sort fruits by size, type, and grade according to company standards and customer specifications.
- Carefully package fruits into appropriate containers, boxes, or crates for shipment.
- Label packages accurately with product information, dates, and batch numbers.
- Operate basic packing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
