Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join our esteemed faculty at Warwick Public School District. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic educator eager to inspire a love for French language and culture in our students. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French across various grade levels, developing engaging lesson plans, and contributing to a dynamic departmental team. Key Responsibilities

• Teach French language and culture to students across designated grade levels (e.g., Middle School and/or High School).
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum that adhere to state and district standards.
• Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and communicative classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student learning and development.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and extracurricular activities.
• Prepare students for relevant standardized tests or proficiency exams in French.

Required Skills

• Fluency in French (native or near-native proficiency).
• Bachelor's degree in French, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification/licensure for French in a recognized jurisdiction (or eligibility to obtain Rhode Island certification).
• Demonstrated experience teaching French to K-12 students (minimum 3 years).
• Strong classroom management and pedagogical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Understanding of cultural diversity and inclusive teaching practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in French, Education, or a related field.
• Experience with modern language teaching methodologies (e.g., ACTFL standards).
• Experience living or studying in a French-speaking country.
• Familiarity with Rhode Island state education standards.
• Experience working with international students or in diverse school settings.
