Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our diverse fleet operations in Philadelphia, PA. This critical role involves managing vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, optimizing fleet utilization, and leading a team of technicians and drivers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of a large and diverse fleet of commercial vehicles.
  • Develop and implement robust preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
  • Oversee vehicle repairs, parts inventory, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely service.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards.
  • Monitor driver performance, conduct training, and enforce safety protocols to maintain a high standard of safety.
  • Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs.
  • Prepare and manage the fleet budget, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of fleet personnel, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall logistics and operational goals.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in fleet management or a related transportation role.
  • Proven experience managing a large fleet of commercial vehicles (trucks, vans, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations, OSHA safety standards, and other relevant compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control operational costs.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred.
  • Certifications in fleet management (e.g., CAFM) or automotive repair (e.g., ASE).
  • Experience with telematics systems and advanced analytics for fleet optimization.
  • Previous experience managing a team with diverse roles (technicians, drivers).
