Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Firmware Engineer to join our innovative team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of embedded firmware for cutting-edge aerospace systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and debug embedded firmware for complex aerospace systems and products.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system architecture, interfaces, and specifications.
  • Implement and optimize firmware for real-time performance, memory efficiency, and power consumption.
  • Conduct thorough unit, integration, and system-level testing to ensure robust and reliable operation.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and project planning activities.
  • Document design specifications, test plans, and release notes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Stay updated with new technologies and industry best practices in embedded systems and aerospace.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and various communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, CAN).
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or similar.
  • Strong debugging skills using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators.
  • Understanding of hardware schematics and datasheets.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-178C, ARP4754A) and safety-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for embedded systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Prior experience in aviation or defense industries.
