Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Examiner to join our dynamic team in Bradford. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for reviewing financial records, reports, and systems to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will identify risks, investigate anomalies, and provide expert recommendations to improve financial health and regulatory adherence for our clients across various sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive examinations of financial institutions and client entities to assess their financial condition, risk management practices, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports for accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
  • Identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and areas of non-compliance, providing detailed findings and recommendations.
  • Evaluate internal controls and operational processes to identify weaknesses and suggest improvements.
  • Prepare detailed examination reports, presenting findings, conclusions, and proposed corrective actions to management and clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including audit and advisory specialists, to provide integrated solutions.
  • Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations, laws, and industry best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior examiners and team members.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial examination, auditing, or a related regulatory compliance role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and identify critical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex findings clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CFA, or CFE.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with data analytics tools and techniques in a financial context.
  • Prior experience working with a Big Four firm or a regulatory body.
  • Knowledge of specific industry regulations (e.g., banking, insurance, investment funds).
