Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, Canada. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work with cutting-edge industrial automation and control systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert technical support, commissioning, maintenance, and repair services for Siemens products and solutions at customer sites across British Columbia. We are open to supporting qualified international candidates with visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Siemens industrial automation equipment and systems (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, drives, SCADA systems).
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, provide timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime for customers.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and calibration activities according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers on the operation and maintenance of Siemens products.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, document all work performed, and maintain accurate service records.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product performance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and customer site regulations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required to provide emergency service support.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role in industrial automation.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), HMIs, variable frequency drives, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., PROFINET, PROFIBUS).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within British Columbia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SCADA systems, industrial networks, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Certifications in specific Siemens automation products or technologies.
  • Experience working in diverse industrial environments (e.g., manufacturing, mining, energy).
  • Project management experience for service-related projects.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
