Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and disciplined Federal Protective Service Officer to join our team in Sainte-Foy, Quebec City. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safeguarding federal properties, assets, and personnel, ensuring a secure and orderly environment. This position requires vigilance, excellent judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. You will play a vital part in maintaining peace and order, enforcing regulations, and ensuring the safety of all individuals within designated federal facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of federal buildings and grounds to deter and detect security threats.
  • Control access to federal facilities, verifying identification and authorizing entry for approved personnel and visitors.
  • Monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control platforms, responding promptly to any alerts.
  • Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents, taking appropriate action to resolve situations and ensure safety.
  • Enforce federal regulations and facility-specific rules, ensuring compliance by all occupants and visitors.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports on all incidents, observations, and security activities.
  • Provide assistance and information to visitors and personnel, maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations into security breaches or suspicious activities.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed during incidents.

Required Skills

  • Possession of a valid Security Guard license in Quebec.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in security or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
  • Demonstrated physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing and monitoring.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in federal, governmental, or high-security environments.
  • Additional security certifications (e.g., Use of Force, ASP Baton).
  • Experience with advanced security technologies and systems.
  • Completion of a police foundations or security management program.
