Job Description

We are seeking a highly vigilant and professional Federal Protective Service Officer to join our team in Saskatoon. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing security services to federal facilities, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, visitors, and property. This position demands a strong sense of duty, exceptional observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations in accordance with established protocols and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of designated federal facilities, both interior and exterior, to deter and detect security breaches.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials, and regulate entry and exit of personnel and vehicles.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks and ensure safety.
• Prepare detailed and accurate reports on all incidents, observations, and security activities.
• Enforce federal regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a secure environment.
• Operate and monitor security equipment, including CCTV, alarms, and communication systems.
• Provide assistance and direction to visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related protective service role.
• Valid Security Guard License for Saskatchewan.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a federal security clearance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Proficiency in observation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Basic computer literacy for report writing and security system operation.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods, as well as lift moderate weight.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with federal government contracts or facilities.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Tactical communication and de-escalation training.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Criminology or Security Management.
