Job Description
As a Federal Air Marshal, you will be a sworn federal law enforcement officer dedicated to protecting the nation’s transportation systems. Your primary duty will be to detect, deter, and defeat hostile acts targeting U.S. air carriers, airports, and passengers. This highly demanding and specialized role requires exceptional judgment, tactical proficiency, and the ability to operate discreetly in dynamic environments. You will undergo extensive training to master advanced tactics, firearms proficiency, and counter-terrorism techniques, becoming a vital part of the nation’s defense against threats to aviation security.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct covert law enforcement operations on U.S. and international flights to detect and deter acts of terrorism and criminal activity.
- Utilize specialized training and equipment to respond effectively to in-flight security incidents.
- Maintain tactical proficiency with assigned firearms and less-lethal weapons through rigorous training and qualification standards.
- Collaborate with other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on security-related matters.
- Prepare detailed reports and provide testimony in legal proceedings as required.
- Maintain the highest level of physical fitness and readiness for deployment at any time.
