Job Description

We are seeking a talented and innovative Fashion Designer to join our dynamic design team in Tucson, Arizona. In this role, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and developing apparel collections that resonate with our brand aesthetic and customer base. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including merchandising, product development, and production to bring your creative visions to life, from initial concept to final product launch. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio, keen eye for trends, and a passion for creating compelling and marketable fashion.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trend research, market analysis, and competitive shopping to identify new fashion directions and opportunities.
• Develop original design concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and fabric selections for assigned collections.
• Sketch and create detailed technical flats (CADs) using design software, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with product developers and sourcing teams to select appropriate materials, trims, and embellishments.
• Prepare comprehensive design packages for vendor communication, including specifications, measurements, and construction details.
• Participate in fit sessions, providing clear and concise feedback to ensure design intent and fit standards are met.
• Work closely with merchandising to align designs with business strategies and sales goals.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and sustainable design initiatives.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in fashion design, preferably in apparel.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for technical flats and presentation boards.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent sketching and illustration skills, both hand and digital.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and interpret fashion trends into commercial designs.
• Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 3D design software (e.g., CLO3D, Browzwear).
• Portfolio showcasing experience in a relevant product category (e.g., contemporary women's, activewear).
• Experience with sustainable design practices and materials.
• Master's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
