Job Description
Join our dedicated agricultural team as a Farm Hand and contribute to the daily operations of our farm in Laval, Quebec. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn and grow within the agricultural industry, as no prior experience is required. You will be involved in a variety of tasks crucial to maintaining farm productivity and animal welfare, working outdoors in various weather conditions. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic to become a valued member of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with feeding, watering, and monitoring the health and welfare of livestock, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Perform general farm maintenance tasks, including fence repair, cleaning barns and stables, and minor equipment upkeep
- Operate basic farm machinery and tools under supervision (e.g., tractors, mowers) after receiving comprehensive training
- Participate in crop planting, cultivation, harvesting, and field maintenance as directed by the farm manager
- Clean and sanitize equipment, facilities, and work areas to maintain the highest hygiene standards
- Monitor and report any issues with crops, animals, or machinery to the farm manager or supervisor promptly
- Assist with the loading and unloading of farm supplies, feed, and products
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, animal welfare guidelines, and company policies
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and working outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Willingness to learn new skills, follow instructions, and adapt to changing tasks
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) for operating vehicles on farm property and potentially for errands
- Previous experience working in an outdoor environment, with animals, or in a physically demanding role is a plus, though not required
- A basic mechanical aptitude or a willingness to learn about farm equipment operation and maintenance
