Job Description

As a Factory Production Team Member at Raytheon Missiles & Defense in Tucson, you will play a vital role in the assembly, testing, and quality control of advanced defense systems. This position involves working collaboratively in a dynamic manufacturing environment, adhering to strict safety protocols and production schedules. You will be responsible for operating various tools and machinery, performing detailed assembly tasks, and ensuring all products meet rigorous quality standards. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team contributing to critical defense capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various assembly and sub-assembly operations following detailed work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Operate and maintain production machinery, specialized tools, and test equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections, identifying and documenting any non-conformances or defects.
  • Identify and report any production issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, company policies, and quality standards, including AS9100/ISO certifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize production processes and solve problems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-controlled (Foreign Object Debris) work environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Perform material handling duties, including receiving, storing, and issuing components as needed.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in aerospace, defense, or electronics.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Strong manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination for precision assembly tasks.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, accessing work instructions, and using production tracking systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work constructively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field (e.g., manufacturing technology, electronics).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, or Six Sigma concepts.
  • Prior experience in defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters).
  • Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
