Job Description

Join the dynamic team at Marriott International as an Entry-Level Facilities Assistant in Kahului, Maui! This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual looking to start a career in facilities management within the vibrant hospitality industry. You will support the Facilities Management team in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our property, contributing to a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and associates alike. No prior experience is required, just a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine inspections of property facilities, identifying and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Support the Facilities team in minor repairs and preventive maintenance tasks, such as light bulb replacement, basic plumbing issues, and painting.
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and safe common areas, storage rooms, and workspaces.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services, under supervision.
  • Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Respond to and resolve basic guest and associate requests related to facilities, promptly and courteously.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and maintenance procedures.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
