Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and dedicated Facilities and Cleaning Associate to join our team at our Uplands, Swansea store. This vital role ensures our premises are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency, providing a safe and welcoming environment for both our customers and colleagues. You will be responsible for a range of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks, contributing directly to the smooth running of our retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and cleaning restrooms.
• Sanitise high-touch surfaces regularly to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Empty waste bins and manage waste disposal according to company guidelines.
• Conduct minor maintenance checks and report any larger issues to the Facilities Manager.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained, stored correctly, and used safely.
• Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist with seasonal cleaning projects and special events as required.
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with colleagues and customers.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in a cleaning or facilities role.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift moderately heavy objects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., COSHH).
• Previous experience in a retail environment.
• Basic understanding of building maintenance.
