Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Export Manager to join our team in Houston, TX. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of export operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, optimizing logistics, and maintaining exceptional client relationships. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding our global reach and efficiency. We are open to providing visa sponsorship for exceptional international candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all export operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all international trade regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review, and process all necessary export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
  • Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with shipping lines and air cargo carriers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including sales, logistics, and finance, to streamline export processes.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators for export operations, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the export process efficiently.
  • Stay updated on changes in international trade laws, tariffs, and customs regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in export management or international logistics (minimum 6 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations (e.g., Incoterms, ITAR, EAR).
  • Strong understanding of customs procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications in International Trade, Customs Compliance, or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CGBP, CSCMP).
  • Experience with specific industry-related export challenges (e.g., oil & gas, chemicals, machinery).
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to global trade.
  • Experience working with a global shipping or logistics company.
