Job Description

PCL Construction is seeking highly skilled and experienced Tilers to join our dynamic teams on various commercial and residential projects across the Greater Toronto Area, with a primary focus on projects within Etobicoke. This is a unique opportunity for talented individuals looking to advance their careers in Canada, as we are offering comprehensive visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates. The successful candidate will be responsible for the precise installation of various types of tiles, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to project specifications and timelines. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying waterproofing or sealant.
• Measure and mark surfaces to lay out work according to blueprints or specifications.
• Cut and shape tiles to fit around obstacles and into corners and edges, using tile cutters and other hand and power tools.
• Mix and apply mortar, grout, and other adhesive materials.
• Install tiles in a precise and aesthetically pleasing manner, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
• Clean and polish installed tiles, removing excess adhesive and grout.
• Inspect and repair damaged tile work.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on site.
• Collaborate effectively with other construction team members and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of verifiable professional tiling experience.
• Proficiency in installing various tile types (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, etc.).
• Expertise in surface preparation, including leveling and waterproofing.
• Strong understanding of tile layout principles and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proof of relevant certifications or trade qualifications (if applicable in home country).

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal apprenticeship or trade school certification in tiling.
• Experience with specialized tiling techniques such as large format tiles or complex patterns.
• Knowledge of Canadian building codes and safety standards (training will be provided).
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or institutional projects.
