Job Description
Intermountain Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pathologist to join our dynamic team in Provo, Utah. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive microscopic examination of surgical pathology specimens and cytopathology samples.
- Provide accurate and timely diagnoses, integrating clinical history, imaging, and laboratory findings.
- Participate in frozen section diagnoses and rapid on-site evaluations (ROSE) as needed.
- Consult with clinicians regarding diagnostic interpretations, appropriate testing, and patient management.
- Supervise and train pathology residents, fellows, and other laboratory personnel.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain current board certifications.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical conferences.
Required Skills
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an AP/CP residency program.
- Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
- Valid or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Utah.
- Demonstrated experience in surgical pathology and cytopathology.
- Excellent diagnostic acumen and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Eligibility for J-1 waiver or H-1B visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., GI, GU, Breast, Dermatopathology).
- Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and digital pathology platforms.
- Record of participation in quality improvement projects or research.
- Experience in an academic or large integrated healthcare system setting.
