Key Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat according to established standards and customer requests.
• Operate and maintain meat processing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper storage, rotation, and display of meat products to maintain freshness and appeal.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service, including offering recommendations and responding to inquiries.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving meat supplies.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment regularly.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a professional butcher.
• Proficiency in various meat cutting techniques and equipment operation.
• Strong understanding of meat quality, cuts, and preparation methods.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices (HACCP preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized butchery apprenticeship or culinary program.
• Experience in a large-scale retail or grocery store meat department.
• Prior experience working in Canada or familiar with Canadian food regulations.
• Ability to speak multiple languages relevant to the local community.
