Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable General Laborers to join our Event & Festival Crew in Edmonton. This temporary position is perfect for individuals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are passionate about live entertainment. You will play a crucial role in the successful execution of various events and festivals across the city, providing essential support for setup, operations, and teardown. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the event industry and contribute to memorable experiences for thousands of attendees.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment, materials, and supplies for events and festivals.
- Perform general site preparation tasks, including setting up fencing, signage, stages, seating, and other temporary structures.
- Provide support for various operational needs during events, such as waste management, crowd control assistance, and general site maintenance.
- Safely operate hand tools and basic power tools as required for event setup and teardown.
- Work collaboratively with event managers, production teams, and other crew members to ensure smooth event execution.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist with event teardown, including dismantling structures, packing equipment, and site cleanup.
- Respond to immediate requests and adapt to changing priorities during live event scenarios.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or sun.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Punctual and reliable, with a flexible schedule to accommodate event timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event setup, general labor, or warehouse work.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of basic tools and equipment used in event production.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience working in a fast-paced or outdoor environment.
