Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic ESG Intern to join our dynamic team in Lekki, Lagos. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about sustainability and responsible business practices to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving field of ESG consulting. As an ESG Intern, you will support various client engagements focused on ESG strategy development, reporting, risk assessment, and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on global and local ESG trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing ESG-related data for client projects and internal initiatives.
• Support the development of ESG strategies, frameworks, and policies for a diverse range of clients.
• Prepare comprehensive presentations, reports, and other client-facing communication materials.
• Participate actively in client meetings, workshops, and internal team discussions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of KPMG's internal ESG knowledge base and methodologies.
• Support other ad-hoc tasks as required by the ESG team.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Basic understanding of sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or ESG concepts.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Finance, Economics, Law, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Previous internship, volunteer, or academic project experience related to sustainability, ESG, or corporate governance.
• Familiarity with global ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, or local regulatory requirements.
