Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our viticulture team as Vineyard Workers for the crucial pruning season. This is an entry-level position; no prior experience is required as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. If you enjoy working outdoors, are physically fit, and eager to learn about wine production from the ground up, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of Canada’s most celebrated wineries. You will play a vital role in preparing our vines for the upcoming growing season, directly impacting the quality and yield of our future harvests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed cane pruning and sucker removal on grapevines under direct supervision.
  • Follow all established pruning techniques and quality standards to ensure optimal vine health and yield.
  • Operate various hand tools safely and efficiently, including pruning shears and loppers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the vineyard blocks.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively as part of a vineyard team.
  • Assist with other vineyard tasks as required by the Viticulture Manager.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, lifting, and repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (cold, wet, hot).
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manual labor or outdoor work is an asset but not required.
  • Interest in viticulture, agriculture, or the wine industry.
  • Access to reliable transportation, as public transport options may be limited.
