Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Entry-Level Hotel Porter / Bell Attendant to join our welcoming team at Delta Hotels by Marriott Waterloo. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in hospitality, providing essential support to our guests from the moment they arrive until their departure. As a Bell Attendant, you will be the first point of contact for many guests, setting the tone for their stay and ensuring a smooth, pleasant experience. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist with luggage handling, ensuring prompt and safe delivery to their rooms.
- Provide guests with information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions, offering personalized recommendations.
- Assist guests with transportation needs, including calling taxis, arranging shuttles, and providing directions.
- Run errands for guests and staff as needed, always maintaining professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby, front entrance, and bell stand area.
- Monitor and control access to the hotel, ensuring the safety and security of all guests and property.
- Assist with special requests or needs from guests to enhance their stay.
- Collaborate with the front desk, concierge, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
- Knowledge of the local area and attractions in Waterloo, Ontario.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
