Join our dynamic Demolition Crew as an Entry-Level General Laborer in Calgary, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to start a career in construction and contribute to challenging demolition projects across the Calgary area. You will learn valuable skills on the job while ensuring safety and efficiency on site as part of a dedicated team. This is an on-site position requiring physical presence at various project locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons with various demolition tasks, including manual removal of materials and structural components.
- Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools under supervision, following all safety guidelines.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and debris from work sites, ensuring proper disposal.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including sweeping, tidying, and securing tools.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety (or willingness to obtain training).
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to punctuality and attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction, demolition, or manual labor role is considered an asset.
- Valid WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and Fall Protection certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites.
