Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic engineering team in Gatineau, Canada. This is an exceptional opportunity for an international candidate as visa sponsorship will be provided. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the design, development, testing, and maintenance of complex electronic systems and components for our cutting-edge projects. You will work closely with engineers on various phases of product lifecycle, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic circuits, components, and systems.
  • Perform soldering, wiring, and component installation in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and fault isolation on electrical and electronic equipment using specialized test gear.
  • Calibrate and verify the accuracy of test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Document test procedures, results, and system configurations accurately.
  • Assist in the design and prototyping of new electrical systems and modifications to existing ones.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and quality control procedures.

Required Skills

  • Associate's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician.
  • Proficiency in using electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers).
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in soldering and circuit assembly techniques.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PCB design and layout software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad).
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment within aerospace, defense, or telecommunications.
  • Certification in IPC J-STD-001 (Soldering) or equivalent.
