Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Clifton, Bristol. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within the aerospace and defense sector, contributing to the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our products. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified international candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for various aerospace and defense applications.
- Perform detailed electrical analysis, simulations, and calculations to ensure system integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers.
- Prepare technical specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports.
- Conduct fault finding, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for electrical issues.
- Ensure all designs and processes comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide expert input on electrical engineering aspects.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in electrical system design and development.
- Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Experience with circuit analysis, power electronics, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or automotive industries.
- Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD, or other relevant industry standards.
- Experience with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink, PSPICE.
- Project management experience.
