Job Description

Are you passionate about working with young children and eager to build a rewarding career in early years education? Children’s International School Kano is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Early Years Apprenticeship program. This is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive professional training, and develop essential skills under the guidance of experienced educators. You will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our early years classrooms, contributing to a positive learning environment for our youngest students. This apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career as an Early Years Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging daily activities for children aged 2-5 years.
  • Support the creation of a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Observe and interact with children, documenting their development and progress.
  • Help supervise children during playtime, meal times, and nap times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining organized and visually appealing classroom displays.
  • Learn and apply school policies and procedures, particularly regarding child protection and safeguarding.
  • Undertake professional development training and complete all assigned coursework related to the apprenticeship.
