Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Drilling Engineer to join our dynamic team in St. Petersburg, Russia. This pivotal role involves planning, designing, and overseeing drilling operations for our oil and gas projects, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing drilling performance and introducing innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize drilling programs, including well design, casing, cementing, and fluid programs.
- Monitor drilling operations to ensure compliance with design, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Analyze drilling data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve performance and reduce non-productive time.
- Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other relevant teams to integrate drilling plans with overall field development strategies.
- Prepare detailed operational reports, cost estimates, and risk assessments for drilling projects.
- Evaluate and select appropriate drilling equipment, technologies, and services.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure all operations adhere to corporate health, safety, and environmental policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering, preferably with onshore and offshore exposure.
- Proven experience with drilling software and simulation tools (e.g., WellPlan, StressCheck).
- Strong understanding of drilling mechanics, well control, and HSE regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and adapt to challenging environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
