Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson with expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to join our dynamic team in San Diego, California. This role is crucial for supporting our engineering and architectural projects, translating conceptual designs into precise technical drawings and plans. The successful candidate will work on diverse infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and maps using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and design specifications.
- Review and verify accuracy of drawings against project specifications and applicable codes.
- Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes, field conditions, and redlines.
- Maintain organized digital and physical drawing archives, ensuring proper version control.
- Assist in the preparation of design reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Ensure all work adheres to company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input when required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, standards, and conventions.
- Ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Draftsperson, preferably in an infrastructure, civil engineering, or architectural firm.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D).
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in California.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
