Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dosimetrist to join our leading oncology team in Kaneohe, Hawaii. The Dosimetrist will be responsible for designing and calculating radiation doses for cancer patients, working closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to ensure precise and effective treatment plans. Key Responsibilities
- Develop optimal radiation treatment plans for patients using advanced dosimetry techniques and software.
- Calculate and verify radiation doses for various treatment modalities, including 3D-CRT, IMRT, SBRT, and Brachytherapy.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to ensure treatment plans meet prescribed parameters and clinical objectives.
- Perform quality assurance checks on treatment plans and related equipment.
- Assist in the simulation and localization of patient treatment areas.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and departmental policies.
Required Skills
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Dosimetrist.
- Proficiency with treatment planning systems (e.g., Eclipse, Pinnacle, Monaco) and record & verify systems (e.g., Aria, Mosaiq).
- Strong understanding of radiation physics, anatomy, and radiobiology.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related science or healthcare field.
- Experience with proton therapy or advanced brachytherapy techniques.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., ACR, ASTRO).
- Previous experience working with diverse patient populations.
