Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester, United Kingdom. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security of our development pipelines and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating security practices into every stage of the software development lifecycle, automating security checks, and fostering a security-first culture within our engineering teams. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate security testing (SAST, DAST, SCA) into the development workflow.
• Conduct security reviews of applications and infrastructure configurations.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices.
• Manage and improve security tools and platforms.
• Respond to security incidents and participate in post-incident analysis.
• Provide guidance and training to engineers on secure coding and infrastructure practices.
• Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a DevSecOps Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of security testing tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Nessus).
• Understanding of network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Background in software development or operations.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
