Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester, UK. This role is open to talented individuals requiring visa sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in integrating security practices into every phase of the software development lifecycle, working closely with development, operations, and security teams. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines, automating security testing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Integrate automated security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Perform security reviews of application code and infrastructure configurations.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and best practices across development and operations.
  • Monitor security events, analyze logs, and respond to security incidents.
  • Automate security tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Stay updated with the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and training to development and operations teams on security principles.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our DevSecOps framework and tools.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a DevSecOps Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Security Engineer with a strong focus on automation.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, penetration testing).
  • Understanding of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and WAF.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer).
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
