Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our thriving dental practice in El Mirage, Arizona. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, promoting oral health, and educating patients on preventative measures. You will work closely with our dentists and the rest of the dental team to deliver comprehensive dental services in a comfortable and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing for patients.
- Conduct thorough oral health assessments, including charting and periodontal probing.
- Take and develop diagnostic radiographs (X-rays).
- Apply preventative materials such as fluorides and sealants.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, diet, and disease prevention.
- Provide post-operative instructions and care recommendations.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
- Accurately document patient care and treatment plans in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with dentists and other dental professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
- Adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid state Dental Hygienist license in Arizona
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in dental software and electronic health records
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, periodontology, and pharmacology
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient education and preventative care
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Local anesthesia certification (where applicable by state law)
- Experience with digital X-ray systems and intra-oral cameras
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus
