Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Defense Analyst to join our team in Islington, Greater London. The successful candidate will be instrumental in analyzing complex geopolitical landscapes, defense policies, and technological advancements to provide critical insights and recommendations. This role requires a strong understanding of international relations, military capabilities, and strategic forecasting to support various projects aimed at enhancing national security and defense strategies. You will work within a dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to high-impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of global defense trends, threats, and opportunities.
• Evaluate military capabilities, procurement programs, and defense budgets of key actors.
• Assess the impact of emerging technologies on defense strategies and operational effectiveness.
• Develop comprehensive reports, briefings, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide strategic advice and recommendations on defense policy, acquisition, and operational planning.
• Monitor and interpret geopolitical events and their potential implications for defense and security.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and project managers to integrate analytical insights into technical solutions.
• Participate in simulations, exercises, and workshops to test and refine defense strategies.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes, international treaties, and regulatory frameworks relevant to defense.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in defense analysis, intelligence, or related fields.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting findings to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated understanding of international security, geopolitics, and military affairs.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and classified information.
• Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Experience with defense industry clients or government defense agencies.
• Knowledge of specific regional defense dynamics (e.g., European, Indo-Pacific).
• Familiarity with quantitative analysis techniques and modeling.
• Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
