Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Architect to join our dynamic IT team. This critical role involves designing, developing, and maintaining our enterprise data architecture, ensuring it supports current and future business needs for scalability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in defining data strategies, standards, and models, and will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data architectures for various enterprise applications and systems.
• Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) for both transactional and analytical systems.
• Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
• Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance data capabilities and efficiency.
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
• Lead the migration of existing data systems to modern cloud-based platforms and data warehouses.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data teams.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, designs, and procedures.

Required Skills

• Expertise in data modeling techniques (ERD, Dimensional, Data Vault).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Extensive experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery).
• Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, DataStage).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
• Experience in the aviation or transportation industry.
• Familiarity with data virtualization and data streaming technologies.
• Experience with master data management (MDM) and data catalog tools.
