Job Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our team as Criminal Investigators in our Buffalo Field Office. As a Criminal Investigator, you will play a critical role in protecting the United States from national security threats and enforcing federal criminal laws. This demanding yet rewarding position requires exceptional analytical abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a steadfast commitment to justice. You will be responsible for conducting complex investigations, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and collaborating with various law enforcement agencies to bring criminals to justice and ensure public safety. This on-site role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our investigations and requires a dynamic individual ready to face diverse challenges daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting in-depth investigations into violations of federal law, including but not limited to terrorism, cybercrime, public corruption, civil rights violations, organized crime, and white-collar crime.
- Collecting and preserving evidence through various investigative techniques, including surveillance, forensic analysis, and digital forensics.
- Interviewing victims, witnesses, confidential informants, and suspects to gather relevant information and statements.
- Executing search warrants, arrest warrants, and conducting raids in accordance with legal protocols and FBI policies.
- Preparing detailed investigative reports, affidavits, and other legal documents for prosecution.
- Collaborating effectively with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and intelligence communities.
- Testifying in court proceedings, grand jury hearings, and other legal forums.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information and investigative techniques.
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development to stay abreast of current investigative methods, laws, and technologies.

- Certification in specialized investigative areas (e.g., financial fraud, cyber forensics)
