Job Description
We are seeking a talented and imaginative Copywriter to join our dynamic creative team in Victoria Island, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be a wordsmith with a passion for storytelling, capable of transforming complex ideas into clear, concise, and engaging copy that resonates with target audiences. You will work across a variety of client accounts, developing copy for digital campaigns, traditional advertising, brand collateral, social media, and more. This role demands creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop original, clear, and compelling copy for a wide range of marketing and advertising materials, including headlines, body copy, slogans, scripts, and digital content.
- Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, and strategists to conceptualize and execute integrated campaigns.
- Understand client briefs and translate marketing objectives into persuasive and effective copy.
- Ensure all copy aligns with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and strategic objectives.
- Conduct thorough research to inform content development and ensure accuracy.
- Proofread and edit copy to maintain high standards of quality, grammar, and spelling.
- Present creative concepts and copy to internal teams and clients, articulating the rationale behind creative choices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscape.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Copywriter, preferably in an advertising agency.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of the English language.
- Ability to develop creative concepts and translate strategic insights into engaging copy.
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse writing styles and campaign examples.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar productivity tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.
