Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Manager to join our dynamic team in Newark, NJ. This role is pivotal in managing all aspects of contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to execution and compliance, ensuring successful project delivery and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction contracts, exceptional negotiation skills, and a meticulous approach to detail. Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a wide range of construction contracts, including prime contracts, subcontracts, vendor agreements, and change orders.
- Ensure all contractual agreements comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, providing proactive advice to project teams and senior management.
- Manage contract close-out procedures, including final payments, lien waivers, and warranty documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, resolving disputes and facilitating effective communication between stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and organized contract records, ensuring accessibility and compliance with auditing requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management best practices and procedures.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in contracts management, preferably within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, construction law, and relevant regulations (e.g., FAR, AIA documents).
- Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and administer complex contracts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Certification such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM).
- Experience with international contracts or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with local New Jersey construction regulations and practices.
