Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Contracting Officer to join our dynamic team in Louisville, Kentucky. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of complex contracts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of contract law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments to achieve strategic objectives. This is an on-site position based at our corporate headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and partners to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Draft, review, and administer a variety of contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, and master agreements.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, resolving disputes and issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate and complete contract records within the contract management system.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual matters to internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in contract management and procurement.
- Stay informed of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or a related contracting role.
- Proven experience with contract negotiation and administration.
- Strong understanding of contract law principles and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex contractual terms and conditions.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or other relevant certification.
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with government contracting regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Proven track record of managing high-value, complex contracts.
